Photo Friday | An Ode to Fall

I don’t play favourites, but sometimes I think that fall is my favourite season.

Of course sometimes I think it’s summer, when the sun is high in the sky, and the nights are long, and there’s my birthday, and my favourite festivals.

And sometimes I think it could be spring, after the snow has melted, and the streets have been swept, and there’s little buds of greens on the trees.

And even winter is not without its charms, when the sky is black, and the snowflakes drift down from the sky, and holiday lights are twinkling.

But I think autumn might be my favourite season. Not because the weather is nicer, because sometimes the weather can be quite cold.

Fall is my favourite season because it’s so pretty and it’s so short.

There are always such beautiful colours that appear in fall.

Autumn in Edmonton

The leaves aren’t even all red, orange, and yellow, but many are.

Fort Edmonton Footbridge in Autumn

The sun sets just after supper, so taking a Golden hour photo, like this one of the Fort Edmonton Footbridge, doesn’t require staying up too late.

Edmonton's Whitemud River Valley in Fall

The sky is a beautiful deep shade of blue.

The leaves fall on the ground, and you can step on them and they making that wonderful crunching sound that autumn leaves make. Sure it gets cold and windy sometimes, but that’s part of the trade off.

Fall is always wonderful.

Alouise – thanks for showing off some of Edmonton’s prettiest bits. I didn’t know that there was foot bridge by Fort Edmonton park. Fall is my second favourite season – summer is my queen.
