Start Spreading The News – I’m Leaving Today for New York (and Las Vegas)

This post is old news. I’m been to and I’m back from this trip. If you want to keep reading this post go ahead, or you can read about some of the cool things I did and saw during my trip instead.

You may have seen that I’ve been planning to do some traveling to New York City. Today I’m leaving for my third trip to the Big Apple. I’ll be there with a few friends and we’ll be celebrating our 30th Birthdays. We’ll see a few shows (we have tickets to Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Cabaret, and Sleep No More), wander through the city, and generally soak in the awesomeness of NYC. I’m so excited!

After I’ll be flying to Las Vegas for a few days in sin city with another friend. We have got tickets to a Cirque show. We’ll wander about The Strip, check out Fremont Street, and try not to blow all our money at the casinos. It’ll be fun times!

Many travel bloggers work while they travel and I would too, but not for this trip. This is a trip with friends and I want to make memories – I don’t want to spend all my time Tweeting about making memories. I’ll take notes about my experience and I’ll take some photos, but I’ll be offline for the next two weeks.

My bags are packed and I’m ready to go. See you in a couple of weeks.

Have you been to New York City or Las Vegas?

Love both cities though I have to admit that I am partial to NYC – the ultimate 24 hour city of the world! Every time I go back to NYC, I see something different yet always seem to go back to the landmark attractions such as the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street and of course a relaxing walk around Central Park.

Vegas is really cool as well, would always recommend folks visiting ‘Old Vegas’ aka Fremont Street because I found that I won more in the casinos there! Plus everything is a little cheaper than the main strip but of course you have to experience the main casinos in Vegas. We also took some trips outside of Vegas to Red Rock Canyon and the Hoover Dam which are cool to see!

Chris – I’m partial to NYC too, but Vegas is fun and I did check out Freemont Street, which I loved. Thanks for all the tips – I’ll be sure to check out Red Rock Canyon and the Hoover Dam if I’m ever back in Vegas.

I love both cities, but Las Vegas is more a city that attracts me, been there several times and it´s amazing there.

I know some people who go to Vegas every year, so it definitely has a hold on people. Thanks for the comment Wesley.

Absolutely Las Vegas! I live in NYC so it’s ruined for me. I escape here for Vegas at least once a year, every year.

Yes, when we live somewhere it can be hard to appreciate it. I’m sure Vegas is a fun break from NYC. Absence does make the heart grow fonder, right? Thanks for the comment.
