September 2021 Artist – Lady Gaga

September 2021 Artist – Lady Gaga (Part 2)

This post is part of my Deep Dive Music Project. This month I’m listening to some music by Lady Gaga. Be sure to check out the Lady Gaga playlist I have on Spotify. Click here for Part 1.

You may notice that this update is pretty late. Truth be told I didn’t really get a lot of time to deep dive on Lady Gaga’s music this month. Really I only listened to each album about once, with a few repeat listens to a handful of songs. And it’s not because I didn’t like the music; I quite enjoyed it all (well ARTPOP maybe a bit less so than the others). But September 2021 turned out to be a complete clusterfuck of a month for both personal and professional reasons. At my work our store manager was transferred to another location leaving us short staffed for a bit (we also had a couple employees give their notice). There was my quick trip out to see some of my dad’s side of family in Saskatchewan, which I’ll maybe write a bit more about at some point. And then on the 16th my grandpa on my mom’s side passed away. This wasn’t completely unexpected, he’d been in hospice care for several weeks, but still it’s sad. His funeral was on the 30th. And then before all that went down there’s been other things happening to me on a more spiritual level, which isn’t something I ever write about. For me this included two separate instances where I could see Angels and getting a really clear third eye vision, which is not something I’ve ever been able to do before. And you might thinking “how much weed did you smoke?” but September I was completely sober aside from having a gin and tonic once after work (and these incidents happened on completely different days).

Oh yeah we were talking about music. Look as mentioned before I liked the albums. I was kind of surprised at how more rock sounding the whole album of Born This Way was compared to The Fame Monster. I quite enjoyed Joanne and Chromatica was a fun electropop album. I didn’t listen to anything else this month, and at some point I’ll maybe listen to her duet albums with Tony Bennett (a new one just came out), but for now I’m taking a break from deep diving with music. Maybe I’ll pick up this series agan and do another artist at some point in the future.

What’s your favourite song or album by Lady Gaga?
